Maybe the largest collection of McGinnis information on the planet? Well, maybe the largest semi-organized collection of McInfo.
Since 1993, after my father, Dennis Oval McGinnis, passed away, I've been collecting information on any McGinnis, McGinnes, MacGinnis, (you get the picture), any time and any place. This information comes from a variety of sources, from books, census records, other's reseaching the families, obituaries.
Updated 15 Dec 2011, currently at 83,946 in 29,659 families. More consolidation, some new family information from new indexes from Ancestry.com including birth and death indexes. A lot of information from www.findagrave.com has been incorporated, which not only has provided the final resting place for many of the people, but provided details on marriages and family lines.
Family Origin for Windows Version 8 (I know, it's old) is used as the primary database for the information and is supported by a Microsoft Access database containing information allowing me to do searches and corelate data in ways that most other databases or geneaology programs do not permit. Prior to FOW, I used Brother's Keeper up to version 5 - I see that the program is still in existence and at version 6.3. FOW is no longer supported but is offered as Roots Magic.
